Royal Ascot has some of the most competitive racing you’ll see in the UK so we have to be careful and disciplined. Today we’re interested in some of John Gosden’s runners since he’s in form and has some nice fillies running.
14:25 Royal Ascot: Miss Yoda
Miss Yoda won the Lingfield Oaks trial just 11 days ago and makes a quick reappearance here which makes her very interesting. She should stay 12f and improve for that run.
We will only back her if she is backed into 2nd Favourite. Watch the market carefully as it will tell us how good she is and whether she can beat the Gosden first string Frankly Darling. At the moment Trefoil is 2nd Favourite but that could change. If there is money for Miss Yoda we will back her if not just a watching brief.
16:10 Royal Ascot: Nazeef
We backed Nazeef last time out at Kempton and think she can run a big race here after a quick reappearance. She will stay the mile no problem and is no doubt ready to go.
Once again we will only back her if she is Favourite or 2nd Favourite. Right now she is 2nd Favourite so we recommend watching the market carefully before the off!
Why do you keep saying that a horse has to be Favourite or 2nd Favourite?
Sometimes we don’t know whether we’re going to back a horse until their going behind or in the stalls! It’s madness but we do believe the movements in the market matter and when making betting decisions it has to be taken into account.
For example some trainers have a good record with Favourites or 2nd Favourites yet have a massive drop off in strike rate when 3rd/4th Favourite. Gosden is a very typical trainer in this regard so you need to be extra careful.
Good luck !
